Senior Accountant

Cassie is an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in nonprofit financial operations, audit and assurance services, and process optimization. With a proven record of supporting multi-entity organizations and strengthening accounting infrastructure, Cassie brings both technical proficiency and a continuous-improvement mindset to every engagement.

Most recently she was a Staff Accountant at the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), where she managed daily accounting operations for three nonprofit organizations simultaneously, including accounts payable administration, monthly revenue and expense recording, and balance sheet reconciliations. She played a key role in developing efficient financial processes, leading the creation of AP automation workflows across eight organizations and designing a streamlined bank reconciliation process adopted by 11 team members and applied to 26 accounts. In addition, she oversaw annual regulatory reporting—such as 1099 filings and unclaimed funds submissions—and supported annual audit and tax preparation for multiple entities.
Previously, Cassie served in Audit & Assurance Services at Greenwalt CPA’s, Inc. (now part of Barnes Dennig), where she conducted GAAP-compliant audit procedures, assessed internal controls, and performed detailed variance and analytical reviews across cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She collaborated directly with department leaders to structure and execute audit engagements and drafted financial statements that consistently required minimal senior-level revision. During this time, Cassie also contributed to staff development by training interns on audit methodology, workpaper documentation, and professional standards.
Cassie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a Minor in Business Management from Anderson University, graduating cum laude, Honors Program distinction, and four Dean’s List recognitions.
